Mangaluru, Mar 21: MLA J.R Lobo along with Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) mayor Jacintha Vijay Alfred and MCC Commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati inspected the ongoing concretization work between Kadri and Nanthoor road and reviewed its progress.

Meanwhile, he told the engineers increase the speed of work and complete the stretch in four weeks to allow the movement of vehicles. In reply, the engineers expressed confidence to complete the work in the said time.

In addition to it, he instructed the engineers to set up a bus bay, construct proper footpath, dividers and to shift the pump house, which is located adjacent to the road.

Later, he told the presspersons that the out of the four lanes, two lanes will be completed will be completed in a week and will be kept for curing for three weeks. Afterwards, vehicles will be allowed to used the road – two way. Simulataneous, construction work of two additional lanes will begin, without harming the movement of vehicles, he explained.

Concretization of Vaslane – Mallikatta stretch

After interacting with the locals, the MLA also said that the stretch between Vas Lane to Mallikatta (Kadri temple entrance) will be concretized and the work will begin in a month.

He instructed the engineers to not to harm any trees and suggested to maintain a provision for flow of water either side of the road, Under Ground Drainage system and cables.

MCC Councillor Sabitha Misquith, Ashok D.K, Asha D’Silva, along with Denis D’Silva, Thejaswi Raj, Ramanad, Nelson Montiero were present.
