Mangaluru, 07 Aug 2015: MLA J R Lobo, Mayor Jacinta Alfred, corporators and municipal officials here on Thursday August 6 inspected the ongoing renovation of Town Hall.
After reviewing the work, MLA Lobo has instructed the officials to ensure that 4 contractors as well as the Nirmithi Kendra complete the allotted work by October to facilitate the inaugural of the Town Hall on Children’s Day – November 14, holding a special programme for and by the children.
Nirmithi Kendra has been given the task of completing civil work at an estimated cost of Rs 99 lac. The seatings will be upgraded @ Rs 60 lac, Rs 98 lac for sounds and lighting system, Rs 49 lac for electrical and generator, Rs 48 lac for the air conditioners. The contractors will start the work in this week and are asked to complete the work by October end, informed MLA Lobo to the media persons.
He advised the municipal officials to auction the old seats and dispose them off at the earliest.
The mayor Jacinta Alfred, corporator Deepak Poojary, Sasidar Hegde, Prakash Salian, Keshva Maroli, Harinath, Ashok D K, T K Sudhir, Denis D’Silva and civic officials were present.
