Mangaluru, 04 Jan 2017: Faisal Nagar, in Bajal, is the interior area in the city. In order to develop infrastructure, the existing road will be concreted @ Rs 3 crore, said MLA J R Lobo.
MLA Lobo was speaking after laying the foundation for laying concrete road at Faisal Nagar, Bajal, here on Tuesday, January 3, he said, public works department (PWD) has sanctioned Rs 2 crore and Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has sanctioned Rs 1 crore in this regard.
The road is narrow in a few stretch of road that has to be widened to 5.5 meter. The people had to be generous because the widened road will benefit everyone, said MLA Lobo. He further said, ‘The underground drainage will be laid in the coming days. The peoples support is expected. The successful completion of works lies in co-operation of local residents with departments, said MLA Lobo.
The municipal steering Committee chairman Lancelot Pinto, former mayor Sasidar Hegde, corporators Sumayya Ashraf and Abdul Rauf, KSRTC director T K Sudhir, Ashraf Bajal, Bharatesh Amin, Anand Rao, Abubakkar, Ahmed Bawa, Hanif, Fakruddin, Ratnamma, PWD engineers Kantaraj and Ravi Hegde, municipality engineers Yashwant and Ganapati, contractor Nagayya Shetty were present.
