Mangalore, 21 Mar 2014: St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor, here organized twelfth annual day at their campus premises on Thursday March 20.

MLA Lobo was the chief guest honored the students who made their mark in sports, cultural activities and academics.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Lobo advised the students to work hard and pursue their goals with courage and sincerity. ‘Success comes with hard work, determination, and courage,’ said MLA Lobo.

MLA Lobo explained the the story of Naga Naresh Karutura of Andhra Pradesh who, despite having lost both his legs, passed out of IIT Chennai and achieved success in IT field. ‘Differently-abled individuals like Naga Naresh have achieved success through their dedication and hard work. Hence, success always follows hard work,’ MLA Lobo.

MLA Lobo also said, ‘We should live in the present while dreaming of the future. Infinite power is hidden in everyone. The youth should use this power to do good and achieve great heights,’ said MLA Lobo.

Hewlett Packard HR manager Anand James D’Silva said, ‘College education is the best time of one’s life. Choose your future well; you will become what you choose. Develop network with people which is important in this age. Great people are great speakers,’ said D’Silva.

Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’ Souza of Mangalore felicitated MLA Lobo on the same occasion.

St Joseph Engineering College director Fr Joseph Lobo welcomed the gathering. Principal Joseph Gonsalves presented the annual report.
