Mangalore City South MLA J.R. Lobo on Saturday directed officials of Mangalore City Corporation to prepare a proposal for building a new bridge across a culvert on Yekkur main road.
After inspecting Yekkur main road, under Kankanady ward, 400 m of which would be upgraded to concrete at an estimated cost of Rs. 90 lakh, Mr. Lobo said that the existing bridge across the culvert was narrow and old. Hence a new wide bridge would be built.
Mr. Lobo expressed happiness over the quality of work of the road.
Councillor of the ward Praveen Chandra and other officials of Mangalore City Corporation were with him.
The MLA also inspected the Jappinamogaru main road a 600 mts stretch of it which was being upgraded as concrete road now at a cost of Rs. 1.30 crore.
