Bantwal, 02 Nov 2015: The love and service are the pillars of Christianity. The social welfare activities are being carried on continuously as commanded by Jesus Christ, said Mangaluru bishop Dr Aloysius P D’Souza.

The bishop Dr D’Souza was speaking during the inaugural function of newly-constructed floor and service facilities at Father Muller Hospital, Thumbay, near here on Sunday November 1.

Everyone should get health facilities, while Father Muller Charitable Institutions are engaged in healthcare services as mission, said bishop Dr D’Souza. Hundreds of beds are provided to poor patients in Father Muller Medical College Hospital, Kankanady, Mangaluru. Father Muller Hospital is operating in Thumbay, near here is a boon to rural people in providing healthcare, added bishop Dr D’Souza.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Lobo said Christian institutions are serving the humanity in education, healthcare and social welfare spheres, in its true spirit. Father Muller Hospital has separate department for psychiatry and leprosy and is successful in serving people of undivided DK district.
