Mangalore, August 25: The District Congress Association of the city paid tribute to the Jnanapeetha felicitated author Late Dr Ananthamurthy on Monday. Congress leader, Vidhanparishat member Ivon D’Souza, minister J.R.Lobo and other congress activists were present.
The statue of Gandhiji was garlanded by the congress leaders prior to the program.
Following this, Mr Ivon D’Souza addressing the assembly said, “The activists of the association who burst crackers mocking the death of Dr Ananthmurthy should be arrested and put behind bars. Ananthmurthy was a renowned author as well as analyst. His death is a great loss”. Flowers were offered on the photograph of Dr Ananthmurthy and rendered the tribute.
