A play area for the differently-abled children will come up in the Kadri Park in another three months, said Mangalore South MLA J.R. Lobo. The new play area will be the second one for differently abled children in the city.

Talking to reporters here on Tuesday, Mr. Lobo said the play area for the differently abled children would be part of the Children play area in the Kadri Park. This will come up at a cost of Rs. 15 lakh, which would be provided under the MLA Area Development funds.
Mr. Lobo said this new play area would be designed by architect Venkatesh Pai, who was also involved in setting up of play area for differently abled children in Gandhi Park in Mannagudda.

Mr. Lobo hopes more differently abled children would use the proposed play area in Kadri Park, a popular green area in the city. “We will be providing access to other children too. But preference will be for the differently abled children,” he added.
